The boards are slipt into two categories:
Public boards: These can be read by any member of the public, without the need for registration or logging-in. However, only registered users can post messages. Anybody can register and the registration process is very quick and simple. It is up to you how much information you reveal about yourself on your profile.
Private boards: These boards are not visible to the public or to general registered users and can only be accessed by club members. In order for the system to recognise you as a club member, please follow this process:
1 - register as a normal user
2 - go to your User Control Panel (there is a link towards the top left of each page)
3 - click on the "Usergroups" tab
4 - click on the radio button next to "Club Members"
5 - at the bottom of the page make sure that "Join selected" is selected from the drop-down menu
6 - click on Submit
In order to ensure that only genuine members of the club are signed up as "club members", an automated e-mail will be sent to me requesting to authorise your request to join the club members group. I will try to deal with your request as soon as possible, but bear in mind that I only have access to this system outside my work hours/days. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your request has been approved.
In order to apply to become a member of the Committee usergroup, follow the process above, clicking on "Committee" in your Usergroups tab.
Sorry if this seems a bit long-winded, but the committee wants to make sure that we keep private information private, while at the same time encourage non-members to join in with general discussions.
These message boards are powered by phpBB3. This software has an awful lot of different settings, so I wield great power (MWA-HA-HA-HA
If you have any trouble using these message boards, have a look through the FAQs in the first instance. There is a FAQ link near the top right corner of each page if you get stuck!
If you're still having difficulties, please contact me and I'll see what I can do.
And finally, go ahead and get chatting! Enjoy!
