Charity Events
Here are some of our upcoming charitable events. We have more ideas in the pipeline, so check back here occasionally for further items, which will be added in due course. Better yet, come along to one of our breakfast meetings to make your suggestions about the kinds of charitable activities that you would like our club to get involved in.

Bristol Savages and Young Musician of the Year Concert
This concert will be the first time that Bristol Savages, a club within Bristol for more than 110 years, will perform outside of their own environment and it is one of the very rare public performances they will give. The evening will consist of a range of entertainment including two performances from performers from the Young Musician of the Year. A few of us will be attending as it should be a really good night and we would be delighted if you want to join us.
The show takes place at St George's from 7:30pm. Tickets are available form the box office priced £15 each.
Thursday 25 February 2010
Fashion show and Clarins beauty event
This event is probably one for our founder president given his penchant for Clarins, however obviously it is open to all. Taking place in Café Zest in House of Fraser, guests will be treated to a fashion show and pampering from Clarins whilst enjoying a glass of wine and nibbles. Tickets are just £10.

"End Polio Now" bucket collections at Tesco
Rotary has been given permission by Tesco to carry out bucket collections for the End Polio Now campaign on Saturday 27th February. We will be asking for volunteers to go along to a designated Tesco store in Bristol and shake a bucket for an shift (expected to be a couple of hours) and help the Rotary Clubs of Bristol to raise the maximum amount of money possible for this amazing cause.
We are awaiting specific details and will e-mail these round to request volunteers as soon as we have them. Keep watching this space...
Saturday 13 March 2010
Tea & cake "Above & Beyond" open day
Our very own Mr Ryan James is inviting everyone for tea and cake at his house on Saturday 13th March between 11am and 3pm. All tea, cake and coffee will be available for a nominal price that covers the cost, plus raises extra money Above & Beyond charities. Consider it like a ‘drop in’ social... nothing formal, just tea, cake, coffee, old school games and good conversation with friends and folk you may like to know! We are hoping to raise a couple of hundred pounds from this simple, informal and delicious event.
Ryan will require volunteers to supply cakes, ideally baked by the attendees themselves. Further details to follow...

Dragon Boat Festival
Yes, that time of year is coming round again where Bristol Bridge members dress up in silly costumes, have a brilliant day out and raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Care. Click here for further details about the festival. Also check out our Galleries pages for photos from 2008 and 2009.
We have entered a boat in the Dragon Boat Festival for the third year in row, and this year's theme will be Noah and his Ark.
Alex Wallis (aka Pappa Smurf, aka Willy Wonka!) has bravely agreed to be the skipper again so please contact him to register your interest in taking part in this event. We will require at least 16 people for the boat, and the more the merrier! Further details will be distributed nearer the time, but please put your name down now to guarantee yourself a place on the boat
In addition David Gammon (Bristol Breakfast, and the organiser of the Dragon Boat Festival is looking for additional teams to fill a boat for the overall charity - "The Station". Please can you approach your companies to see whether they would be interested in sponsoring and filling a boat - this is a great event for team building and a really fun day out.
